The fruits and vegetables we chose for this month's Energy Boost were: Red Grape, Pineapple, Spinach and Plum.
Red Grape is an excellent source of potassium, essential for the contraction and maintenance of muscle mass. The grape also has in its composition arginine, a libido-stimulating amino acid, and good vital energy.
Pineapple is an excellent source of bromelain, a digestive enzyme that degrades protein bonds, an essential process for digestion. Since digestion is one of the most energy-consuming physiological processes, pineapple intake by facilitating this process helps to save energy for other functions.
Plum, like grapes, is a good source of potassium and rich in soluble and insoluble fiber and sorbitol, which help maintain a healthy intestine.
Spinach is very rich in nitrates, important substances for toning and muscle contraction. They are excellent sources of minerals such as iron, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, copper and manganese. In addition, they are also rich in coenzyme Q10, a molecule essential for energy production and to increase physical performance and slow the aging process.
The combination of these 4 ingredients makes this smoothie a perfect Energy Boost, ready to provide nutrients and energy that we need to face the day.
For Brain Food we chose Apple, Persimmon, Tangerine and Pineapple.
Apple supports the production of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter with functions in memory and cognition. It is also a good source of vitamins C and B complex, essential for the development of neurons. Apple is also a source of quercetin, which is important for combating cell death and inflammation of neurons.
Persimmon is a fruit very rich in antioxidants such as carotenoids, tannins and flavonoids. These compounds are essential for preventing premature aging of the central nervous system and for maintaining a young brain. This food is also rich in vitamin A, which plays an essential role in vision, in the immune system and in fetal development.
Tangerine is an excellent source of vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that fights oxidative stress. It is also a source of minerals, namely potassium, important for maintaining blood pressure and preventing cardiovascular diseases.
Pineapple is very rich in bromelain which, in addition to being a potent anti-inflammatory compound, has an important action in preventing thrombosis. It is also an excellent source of antioxidants such as vitamin C and beta-carotenes.
These 4 ingredients make the Brain Food smoothie a perfect drink to increase concentration and look after our brain health.

Mango is very rich in carotenoids, which have a strong photoprotective action on the skin, protecting it from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays.
Kiwi is one of the richest fruits in antioxidants. Among them we can highlight beta-carotene, phenolic compounds, flavonoids and vitamin E which also supports the protection of skin cells from degeneration and premature aging.
Strawberries have a quarter more antioxidants than most fruits, playing an important role in protecting against free radicals linked to premature aging.
Linseed is the richest vegetable source of omega 3, a compound with an extraordinary anti-inflammatory action.
This Anti-aging smoothie has the perfect combination of ingredients for healthy cell development.
